JWP Tournament 7.4.07

JWP and the Boonchu Gym crew put another of their amatuer tournament fight shows yesterday at the Robina Community Centre.
Strikeforce was represented by the father and son combination of Mark and Arkheem Lucchiari.
Mark was making his first trip to centre ring while 8 year old son Arkheem is already a veteran with one fight under his belt!
Mark was first up against a tall lad from Dean Morrison's Bulldog Gym. Marked work well from range, hammering in punishing right low kicks and then coming over the top with some big punches.
Lucch kept working this plan for the full three rounds to earn himself an impressive first up win.
Next up was Diamond Jim's young charge Arkheem in the 25kg division. The Kheemstar came out strongly kicking well and working his way in to the grapple where he was landing some hard straight knees to the mid section, resulting in a knockdown and an eight count.
His opponent, Joel from Boonchu Gym, kept firing off some big over hand rights and an impressive array of jumping kicks, but Kheems was just too strong in the grapple and kept firing in sharp strong knees to take the win on points! But it was a great display from these two warriors of the future!
